Paul - I'd guess maybe 15-20 minutes. There's really nothing to the actual painting - it's basically 2 colors on a neutral gray background. Most of the time was getting the shape of the head and eyes right - and drawing the webs of course.
Brad and Dylan - the brush is a standard Photoshop brush that is similar to the chalk one in Painter. I did modify the settings some however. As for dodge and burn - I almost never use them. I use the burn occasionally for very specific things that need to be darkened, but it's very subtle and it's always set on about 5% so I can't go overboard with it. Always use color for shadows and highlights.

Steve, Another process question for you. Are you drawing this in pencil first then scanning it in? Also is this with a wacom tablet, or just a plain old mouse?

The thought that immediately came to mind when I saw this was "Is that Spider-Man's senior yearbook photo?". I think it's the pose and the background that triggered that odd thought of mine.
